Hey girl,
I know you want your wedding day to express your personality and be totally unique, because who wants to have the same wedding as everyone else? I did some research to find what the new trends are for this year and let me tell you, I am totally taking notes for my own wedding!
1.) Potted Plants as Aisle Décor
What better way to pay homage to the quintessential English garden than using potted plants in your ceremony décor? The pots themselves can be wrapped in silk fabrics to hide the pot and create a harmonious decor that blends with the natural environment.
2.) It’s All About the Sleeve
Sheer capes, lace capelets, hooded style and pearl-encrusted designs all made their way down the runways. What’s not to love about this removable trend that’s a more fashion-forward take on the classic veil?
3.) Moody, Colorful Florals
This one is my personal favorite because my wedding is going to be dark and moody. The big trend for 2018 will be darker, detailed, and textured florals. We’ve been in a beautiful lull of soft, lush, flowers with lots of greenery, but dark colors are going to be making an appearance in 2018. One hue to watch: purple. They are forecasting color palettes to take a turn towards shades of purples, including wine, lilac, lavender, and mauve.
4.) Colored Candles
There’s no better way to add vintage romance to your big day than with statement candelabras. Instead of the standard white and ivory candles, couples are looking to add a splash of color. Colored candleson tablescapes or peppered throughout the event space are an easy way to add something unexpected to your décor.
5.) Foregoing the Favor
More couples are opting out of favors and prioritizing the experience over a simple takeaway. They’re treating guests to extras like a passed after-dinner treat or even a fun late-night cover band. Thoughtful welcome bags for destination weddings are still all the rage and this year, couples are choosing to gift a series of small presents parceled out over the course of their guests’ stay. Out-of-towners are welcomed with the essentials, followed by a sweet treat at turndown and a parting gift for their travels home.
I hope you loved these 5 hot new trends for 2018! Are you planning a wedding? Check out my wedding packages!
