Well it looks like I’m getting another brother-in-law! My beautiful sister is officially engaged to the most perfect man for her. I was beyond excited when Christian told me he was going to propose while we were on our family vacation to Hawaii. He already knew that Megan wanted me to do a sunset couples shoot for them so he figured that would be the perfect time to pop the question.
Christian knew he was going to propose during their couples shoot but he didn’t know when we would actually do it. When we got to Oahu it rained off and on for 3 days so we couldn’t do it while we were on that island. We then flew to Maui and saw that there were clear skies in the forecast. I told meg that we should do their shoot that night then just go to dinner afterwards since well be all dressed up. It finally hit Chris that it was happening! I was surprised by how well he kept it together, while I was nervous as heck.
While we were in the car on the way to the beach I asked my mom to take “behind the scenes” pictures for me so I could use them for social media. Little did Megan know, mom was actually going to be filming the proposal. I began their shoot and played games like I usually do with my couples to get them to relax. Christian and I had a code word so he knew when to drop to one knee. I told Meg to whisper one word/phrase that she NEVER says to him. After she whispered a curse word in his ear they both laughed. I told Christian to do the same thing and thats when he said, “Megan Kemmer will you marry me?”
It was so hard to fight back the tears while I was trying to capture this special moment. I am so honored that I was able to capture this beautiful proposal and their love for each other. Megan came to Hawaii with a boyfriend and she’s leaving with a fiancé! Mrs. Dennae has a nice ring to it.
