This couple is so special to me! I photographed their wedding in the summer of 2022 and I was ONE MONTH POSTPARTUM after having my second baby. I remember it so vividly because I was so nervous leaving my husband with a one month old and a one year old all day. I even had to stop and pump a couple times during the wedding. Being a working mom definitely comes with it challenges. Fast forward 3 years and now I get to photograph this sweet couples newborn session in their home in Hollidaysburg, PA.

I was so excited when Hannah requested some film photos. She, like me, loves the nostalgic feel of film photos. I shot this session on Portra 800 35mm film, rated at 400 so it was slightly overexposed. Once PhotoVision developed and scanned my film photos I was able to use my film images as guides to get my digital photos to match that same vibe.

There’s just something about the soft grain, the warm tones, and the tangible magic of 35mm film. Each frame tells a story, each print holds a memory. It’s the kind of nostalgia that takes you back to flipping through family albums, reliving the simple moments and feeling every emotion all over again.

There is no place i’d rather shoot, than in your own home. Your home is where real life happens—it’s where you get to watch your baby grow, and make memories. Capturing your family in that familiar space brings out genuine connection and emotion. No need to worry about rushing out the door or getting everyone “perfect” for a location shoot. You’re already where you’re most comfortable. Plus you get to include your pets!
